Project Descriptions: CurricUNET

The CCC Curricunet project was started in 2008 and is designed to automate the process by which previously paper-based curriculum reports and applications will be submitted from the 110 California Community Colleges and processed by the Chancellor’s Office. Implementation is scheduled for Fall 2009.
The project uses various modules from the Curricunet System to allow both Curricunet and non-Curricunet colleges to use the Web to submit required curriculum reports and applications to the Chancellor’s Office.
No college is required to acquire a local implementation of Curricunet. Instead, special Web interfaces are created to allow all colleges to submit the necessary credit and non-credit reports.
Validation checking of input data will be provided. Also, all authorized users will be able to track the status of any submission in real time. Once approved, the submissions will be deposited in the CCC Clearinghouse database to allow Web-based, statewide searching.
The project will be based on the Curricunet System and will include the following features:
- Web entry, with data validation
- Automated workflow, with real-time status tracking
- A Web-accessible, statewide curriculum database
- Automated interface to Chancellor’s Office MIS database
